The SkyHydrant in Community Development

The SkyHydrant is a portable ultrafiltration unit. It can filter up to 10,000 liters of water per day. With a recommended daily water intake of 8 liters per person per day, this is sufficient to provide drinking water for up to 1,250 people per day. It is intended for use by non-profit organizations to provide refugees and rural communities without access to potable water.

VNS intends to install a SkyHydrant in one such community to provide them with clean, safe drinking water for their use. The SkyHydrant system shall include two water tanks, water pump, solar panel, water-test kits, etc. In addition, the system shall also include one biosand filter, one UV water filter, one ozone filter, two solar kettle-thermos flasks, five candle-water filters, one rural water system, one portable LP3, one ram pump, two ZeroFly Tents and other necessary support equipment. The necessary training shall be provided to the locals to enable them to operate the SkyHydrant for their use.
